Ben’s World Update #2
I have been having a great time going back and forth, from Mexico and San Diego. First of all, I have started a new business in Mexico, cleaning boat bottoms. Did you know that algae, starts to grow on the bottom of boats? I wanted more cash for my account. So far, I’ve earned $12.50. I donated $7.00 to the Haiti relief fund with my harbor diving money.
In San Diego I rode on this thing called The Wave. It’s like manmade surfing. It is so worth the $20.00 bucks. Hopefully I can figure some way to get some photos on the gallery in our web site.
This week we went to Sea World, and I got to swim with dolphins! They were so cute and they felt like rubber. Next, we went on this thing called Shipwreck Rapids. Don’t ever do it in regular clothes because you get soaked! Last, before we left we went on the roller coaster, Journey through Atlantis. My favorite thing was the bat ray pools. They come right up to you to pet, and you can feed them squid.
Hey muchachos! So far, all of our adventure has been work, work, work and we all have had our ups and downs. The dog is doing better than ever. And you’re not going to believe what I saw on the 8th, while I was walking the dog. I spotted a weird looking skate slithering his way along the sand! I love looking for cool sea life in the shallow waters.
On Wednesday, we went to an organic farm. An organic farm is a farm that does not use any pesticides. Since my mom read Animal, Vegetable, Miracle by Barbara Kingsolver, we are much more conscientious to eat fresh, local, and organic. We weeded the dyno kale and hoed the rows of spinach. I loved it and could have volunteered there all day! My new passion is learning to cook. I have mastered fried and scrambled eggs so far, but have also helped my mom make homemade marinara sauce and bread.
I have these ducks that started coming by when we were in Oxnard and then when we got to San Diego, I went outside and they were there! Every morning and night now, I hand feed them. I feed them Cheerios, Wheat Thins, and bread.
Good bye my best friends and family. I will write again soon!
From,
